Elk Town Meeting

The annual Elk town meeting is coming up on Thursday, Feb. 8 at 7pm at The Greenwood Community Center. The GCC will give its annual report and elect officers, then all of the major town organizations will give their annual reports. To learn about what is going on in Elk and for a chance to get involved with our community, be sure to attend this meeting. For more info call 877-3341.

Plan Ahead for The Summer Crafts Fair

Artists and craftspeople are invited to apply for
MENDOCINO ART CENTER'S
48TH ANNUAL SUMMER ARTS & CRAFTS FAIR,
July 14 & 15, 2007 • 10 am - 5 pm
Original work in all categories is acceptable. Applicants must submit color slides or digital images of recent work and a photograph or drawing of a proposed booth display.
The fair coincides with the renowned Mendocino Music Festival and is held in the beautiful gardens at the Mendocino Art Center in the heart of Mendocino village. Summer weekends draw a great number of out of town visitors to the north coast, from the Bay Area, the Sacramento Valley and southern California, among other regions. In addition to arts and crafts booths, the fair will feature live music and a food court.
There is a $50 booth fee plus a 15 percent commission on gross sales.

Big is Beautiful!

Big is Beautiful! Making a grand statement to begin the new year, members of the Elk Studio Gallery present 'The Big Picture Show', with an opening reception Saturday January 20th from 5-7pm. All photographs and digital images exhibited are at least 20 inches in at least one dimension! Immediately following the reception, Norman de Vall will give a talk about his experiences working with one family member, George Rickey the sculptor and then show a film produced by his cousins, who made the movies Train Spotting and Shallow Grave. Having had some experience in the management of artists' estates. Norman is open to discussing how artists might best manage their own collections. There will be wine to taste from A.Rafanelli in Healdsburg and a selection of treats to eat. We invite you to join us, see the new work and enjoy a glass of wine while watching the movie. Friday Night Music
Friday Night at The Caspar Inn:
