Blue Ox Beer Festival
and Barbeque in Fort Bragg - Sample award winning microbrews
at the Blue Ox Beer Festival and Barbeque Saturday August
30, noon to 5pm. Live Jazz by Bay Area Artists Chris Amberger
on piano, Joe Cohen alto sax, Jimmy Gallagher on drums, Adam
Shulman piano. The Barbeque is open to the public and will
feature a variety of grilled sandwiches and drinks. Proceeds
from the festival will help support the services at Redwood

Great Day in
Elk!

This year¹s Great
Day in Elk, to be held all day on Saturday, August 23, is
sure to be the best one ever, with lots of additions, including
new and improved carnival games, a newly-built bread oven,
a bounce house and petting zoo for the kids, and lots more.
The 34th annual fundraiser for the Greenwood Community Center.
The parade starts at noon on Highway 1, with floats, tykes
on bikes, Smokey the Bear and lots more. The carnival follows,
with game booths and prizes and do-it-yourself craft projects
for children. There's a $100 grease pole, fortune-telling,
belly dancing, mini-massage, a watermelon-eating contest,
live music, sack races, a cake auction, silent auction and
a raffle drawing. And LOTS of foodall day, as well as dinner
outdoor bbq from 4 to 7pm. For more information call 877-1105.

Art in the Gardens will take place on Saturday, August 9 from
10:00 am to 5:00 pm. This is the best garden party on the
Coast. Take one beautiful garden, add incredible art, season
with delicious wine and food, stir in fabulous music, mix
and enjoy! All profits raised on this special day support
the Garden. Advance tickets are available now in Fort Bragg
